1960 FSO Syrena Sport Prototype
MODEL YEAR: 1960
The FSO Syrena Sport was a one-off Polish sports car prototype unveiled on May Day 1960. Despite its striking design, it faced technical issues and modest performance due to a small engine. The real reason it vanished, however, was politics—Party leader Władysław Gomułka ordered it hidden, as Poland’s market demanded affordable, practical cars, not elite sports models. In 1979, the only Syrena Sport was destroyed along with other unused prototypes, leaving behind nothing but photos and memories of what could have been a Polish automotive icon.
