Built in Davenport, IA, the Zip was another of the many ephemeral US cyclecars of the mid-1910’s that came and went in the blink of an eye.

The company was started by Ross Phelps, Frank Skinner and Harry Huebotter.
The early Zip’s used a 2-cylinder MACK V-twin air cooled engine. By May of 1914, the Zip used a 4-cylinder Herrimann water cooled engine, along with the addition of a radiator, top windshield and electric horn. The company only survived 14 months with less than 100 built.
