The Ferves Ranger premiered at the 1966 Turin Motor Show, showcasing a distinctive and uniquely Italian approach to compact off-road vehicles. Crafted by Carlo Ferrari, the name Ferves is an acronym for FERrari VEicoli Speciali (Ferrari Special Vehicles). The Ranger combined features from the popular Fiat 500 and 600 models, incorporating a rear-mounted engine from the 500 and the independent suspension system from the 600D. Its open design included a foldable windscreen and detachable doors, and it could comfortably seat four passengers.
Available in both two-wheel and four-wheel-drive variants, the Ranger was designed for both easy urban driving and tackling rough terrain that other microcars couldn't handle. This capability was supported by a very low gear ratio, allowing the vehicle to move at walking speed. Ferves manufactured approximately 600 units of the Ranger, with fewer than 50 believed to exist today.
