The Fiat S76, also known as "The Beast of Turin," was specially built as a one-off vehicle to take the world land speed record from the Blitzen-Benz, which held the record at the time. Named for its massive engine, which had a capacity of 28,353 cc and produced 290 bhp, the S76 aimed to dominate the speed trials. In 1911, the S76 was sent to Britain, where it was tested for the first time at Brooklands.
