English racing driver EAD Eldridge acquired a 1908 SB 4, into which he installed a Fiat A.12 bis World War I aero-engine, capable of producing a maximum power output of 320 bhp. The result was a powerful, record-breaking car with suitable modifications. On July 12, 1924, in Arpajon, France, Eldridge set a new world land speed record, reaching a speed of 234.980 kph.
