The Renault 3 was a budget city car built by Renault between 1961 and 1962. Essentially a stripped-down version of the Renault 4, it featured a small 603cc engine with 22.5 hp, a basic 3-speed gearbox, and extremely minimal equipment. It had no rear side window, fixed rear glass, tube bumpers, and bare interiors with hammock-style seats. Available only in "Pyramid Grey," it reached 90 km/h and was produced in just 2,526 units. Its higher fuel consumption and price close to the better-equipped R4 led to poor sales.
